From Jackie Byrd:
Nov UPDATE: Wanda's brother Dan, posted this today on face book, regarding memorial service planned for Wanda. I copied and pasted for Wanda's classmates and close friends.
"To the Friends and Family of Wanda. There will be a memorial service for Wanda at 11AM on November 16, 2013 at Cross Roads Fellowship Church at 1861 Church Road, McGregor Texas. This memorial service will be in Wanda Style. The service will be in the fellowship hall. There will be worship, love, and an open mic for anyone wanting to say something about Wanda. As I said, this service will be in Wanda Style so dress casual, bring your favorite Wanda story, and your favorite dish for the pot luck luncheon. The family of Wanda wants this service to a jubilation to her memory. All of us are saddened by her leaving earth but we all are rejoicing for her to be in heaven. We also thank all of you for your kind words and your friendship to her. Your Waco High School Class is special in the caring for a classmate."

I remember how Wanda always had a smile for everyone. If you were down or things weren't going quite right all you had to do was find Wanda and her smile and awesome laugh would make everything better. She always seemed to be able to make the darkest times brighter.
And now you're gone Wanda.......... gone on a wonderful trip to a place where you no longer feel the pain you had been suffering. We all miss you Wanda and I'm so sorry I didn't get out there to see you before you left our earthly home. I know though that you're there in Heaven with Jesus looking down on us and smiling your beautiful smile you shared with all of us. We love you and will miss you....... 'til we meet again..........

Yet another of our youthful WHS tribe has now crossed over. Wanda is yet another real reminder of the brevity of life-- and certainty of death--and our own mortality, which seems far more obvious in our 60's, than it did in our teens. Brenda and I remember Wanda well, with fond memories, and express our deepest sympathies. May each of us look forward to an eternal reunion, with no barriers of time or space, in God's splendid providence--with no more tears-- and no more pain. Until then, may we each live our lives, so as to be fondly remembered, and maybe even missed a bit! All in the very best, of the finest, of Waco High tradition.Lynne Williams (Bowerman)
My prayers to Wanda's Family. We were blessed to have her in our Waco High Family. We will always remember the good times our friend.

I visited with Wanda during her stay at the nursing home and she was as always so cheerful. We talked for several hours and her smile lit up the room. She told me she knew she was in God's hands and wanted everyone at WHS to know she appreciated your thoughts and prayers and most of all your friendship. Wanda was a wonderful friend and she will be missed. My love and prayers to her family.
